Description

A non-profit making think tank devoted to improving the quality of the British debate on the European
Union. It is a forum for people with ideas from Britain and across the continent to debate the social,
political and economic changes facing Europe. It seeks to work with similar bodies in other EU countries,
in North America and elsewhere in the world. The CER is pro-European but not uncritical. Leading British
companies were directly involved in its creation. It favours a competitive outward looking Europe that is
friendly to business. The CER also represents a younger generation of professionals, business people and
academics.
