Biosciences Foundation - European Liaison Group
Description
The European Liaison Group (ELG) is financed and co-coordinated by the Biosciences Federation (BSF). The Federation represents biosciences in the UK, but membership of the ELG, whilst it contains some representatives of the BSF member organisations, contains many representatives of outside bodies. The main aims of the group are: 1) To identify, inform, and involve the UK biosciences community in the development of any new or revised EU regulations or initiatives at an early stage of their formulation, so as to try to ensure that, as far as is practical, UK views are fully expressed and incorporated in them; 2) To keep a watching brief on the implementation of all new or revised EU regulations and initiatives relevant to the bioscience community in the UK so as to ensure that there is no over-regulation, and that the regulations or initiatives are practical and workable.
