The Federal Trust was founded in 1945 to study the future of democratic unity between states and people.
Taking European integration and Britain's place within the emerging Union as its focus, the Trust conducts
major inquiries, promotes international conferences and publishes a wide variety of opinion-forming
research and educational material, which are available for public purchase. The Trust does not operate as a
public information service. It is an independent charity.
