Double Club: teaching football and language skills together

The European Commission Representation's London office is a partner in the Double Club initiative, an innovative language learning project aimed at school children and combining language teaching with football training.

The language Double Club has five other partners: Arsenal in the Community, l'Institut français, the Goethe Institut together with the UK-German Connection and the Spanish Embassy.

The programme currently offers three language options (French, German and Spanish) and is run mainly at secondary schools in the England. Each Double Club module lasts for 6-12 weeks and is taught by in-school language teachers and Arsenal-trained coaches.
