A Day in the Life ....

07 Jun 2006 1:08 pm

EC Vice-President Margot Wallström was in London on 12 May 2006 and met with pupils from All Saints C. of E. Primary School, Blackheath at the Commission's office.

The school children had come to see the EuroVisions exhibition (photographs by Magnum photographers of the new EU member states) and to show the Vice-President their own photographs inspired by the exhibition. Read here Merrie Ashton's account of the school project and download her photography lesson plan.

Vice-President Wallström also attended a number of events, including giving a speech 'How can Europe meet the challenges of globalisation?' (download the speech here) at a Swedish Chamber Commerce conference.

She later participated in a roundtable discussion on 'Europe and the Media' at the London Press Club and ended the day by participating in a debate entitled 'Who's Afraid of Europe?' organised by Cafe Babel.
