The Sibiu Declaration

"We as individual educators, artists and cultural animators assembled in the European Cultural Parliament share responsibility for the future of Europe, must make sure that the idea of Europe that we project - among ourselves and among others living outside Europe - should be that of a promoter of peace, based on the ideas of justice, equality and freedom." "The Sibiu Declaration" was adopted by members of the European Cultural Parliament on 7 October at its sixth session. The declaration has its main focus on aspects of the Intercultural Dialogue. In addition, the ECP adopted a statement on the anniversary (7 october) of the assasination of its esteemed member Anna Politkovskaya. Furthermore, the ECP listened to and endorsed a statement by the ECP-member Barbara Hendricks about the violence against peaceful demonstrations in Burma.
