"The first contest was successful in promoting multilingualism and demonstrating the value of language learning as well as in raising interest in the crucial but often invisible profession of translator", said Leonard Orban, Commissioner for Multilingualism. "The comments we received from schools and participants showed that the experience was rewarding and that we were right on target. Therefore, we decided to organise it again."
The contest website (http://ec.europa.eu/translatores) will be on line in the 23 official EU languages as of 9 May.
