Shepherd's Bush Life

Shepherd's Bush Life! a new and unique festival celebrating the diversity of Shepherd's Bush will be held from 24th – 29th November 2008.

Shepherd’s Bush Life! takes place over six days at x different venues and includes live music, DJs, singers and performers as well as an inspirational youth programme with an array of workshops. The event will explore the rich mix of the area as it welcomes new investment. Westfield Shopping Centre, the re-opening of the Central Line tube station plus major road and rail improvements are all set to bring a well deserved uplift to an area that has much to celebrate in cultural and musical terms.

Shepherd's Bush has produced many talented artists, musicians and writers – Vanessa Redgrave, Hanif Kureishi, The Sex Pistols, Bush, Pete Doherty. Shepherd’s Bush Life! will showcase the talent of 2008 with well known and upcoming musicians and artists such as DuOud, masters of the Oud and winners of Radio 3 Best Newcomer World Music Award 2003, and U-Cef, with New York, Paris Marrakech inspired electonica and the beautiful melodies of Hindi Zahra’s folk soul, recently billed as “the most haunting voice in folk soul of 2008”.

Hindi Zahra sings her repertoire of folk soul.

Saturday 29th November at Shepherds Bar at 8pm

Kamelion "Crying Hands" An Ethiopian vibe for the Ethiopiques party.

Youth Programme to inspire and educate:

24 to 29th November –  Music and sport workshops for all ages at The Music House for Children, Bush Hall, Vanessa School and the Masbro Centre.
