New Enterprise Europe Network

6 February 2008

The new Enterprise Europe Network will be launched by European Commission Vice-President Günter Verheugen on 6 February 2008 in Brussels. It builds on the strengths of the previous Euro Info Centre and Innovation Relay Centre networks, and unites more than 500 organisations in Europe and beyond offering integrated services, in close proximity to its clients. The network partners will supply information on, and help in accessing EU policies, programmes and funding opportunities. They will:

  • Assist companies in identifying potential commercial partners, especially in other countries;
  • Encourage SMEs to become more innovative and help them develop new products, to access new markets and to inform them about EU activities and opportunities;
  • Advise small businesses on technical issues such as intellectual property rights, standards and EU legislation;
  • Act as a two-way street between entrepreneurs and EU decision-makers, relaying views in both directions.
